11月2日，由国家奥林匹克体育中心和中国橄榄球协会联合主办的2024年全国青少年U系列腰旗橄榄球系列赛在湖北武汉塔子湖体育中心盛大开幕，吸引了来自全国各地的11支队伍、104名运动员参加。

On November 2, the 2024 National Youth U Series Flag Football Championship, organized by the National Olympic Sports Center and the China Football Association, had its grand opening at the Tazihu Sports Center in Wuhan, Hubei. The event attracted 11 teams and 104 athletes from across the country.

比赛盛况

我校MUSTANGS女子腰旗橄榄球队首次在全国性体育赛事亮相，面对成都、深圳、武汉等多支实力强劲的队伍勇往直前，凭借坚韧不拔的意志和卓越的团队协作精神，最终斩获全国女子组第四名的好成绩。

Our school, MUSTANGS girls’ flag football team, made its debut at a national sports event, bravely facing strong teams from Chengdu, Shenzhen, Wuhan, and more. With unwavering determination and exceptional team spirit, they ultimately achieved an impressive fourth place in the national women’s division.

课程护航

上海美达菲学校一直坚持全人教育，多元成长，注重学生的全面发展，努力在学术、运动和艺术领域为学生找到最佳平衡。学校为学生们提供了丰富的体育项目，包括腰旗橄榄球、棍网球、飞盘、旱地冰球和皮克球等，为学生带来多元的运动体验。

Shanghai MacDuffie School is committed to holistic education and diverse development, focusing on the well-rounded growth of students while striving to find the best balance across academics, sports, and the arts. The school offers a wide range of sports programs, including flag football, lacrosse, frisbee, floor hockey, and pickleball, providing students with a variety of athletic experiences.

校队蜕变

今年9月，在国际体育部门教练的精心选拔和指导下，上海美达菲学校MUSTANGS女子腰旗橄榄球队正式成立。尽管队员们只有短短一个月的训练时间，但她们全身心投入，展现出强烈的团队凝聚力。在此次全国赛上，面对其他练习了2～3年的强队，队员们毫不示弱，展现出惊人的爆发力和顽强的斗志。

In September this year, under the careful selection and guidance of coaches from international sports organizations, the Shanghai MecDuffie School, MUSTANGS girls’ flag football team was officially established. Despite only having a month of training, the players dedicated themselves fully and demonstrated strong team cohesion. In this national competition, they faced strong teams who have been practicing for 2 to 3 years, yet they showed no weakness, displaying remarkable energy and tenacious spirit.

腰旗橄榄球简介

腰旗橄榄球（Flag football）源于军旅，兴于民间，是美式橄榄球的一种非冲撞性分支运动，它起源于20世纪40年代的美国军队。二战结束后，这项运动在美国民间逐渐流行，并设立了国际赛事。2023年，腰旗橄榄球正式被列为2028年洛杉矶奥运会比赛项目，这标志着其正式迈入国际竞技舞台。

Flag football originated in the military and gained popularity among civilians. It is a non-contact variant of American football, tracing back to the U.S. military in the 1940s. After World War II, the sport gradually became popular among the American public, eventually leading to the establishment of international competitions. In 2023, flag football was officially included as an event for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, marking its formal entry onto the international competitive stage.

Reg, the PE teacher for the International Department and head coach of the football team at Shanghai MacDuffie School, summarized the competition as follows:

First, I want to thank our wonderful parents for entrusting me with their children.

Second, I want to thank Tianli Shanghai MacDuffie school for their support to ensure we raise great young men and women for a better future.

Third, I want to thank our children for choosing me to be their coach and working so hard. Trust is earn, and not given. With that being said, I plan on earning their trust every single day. I'm proud of our girls for not giving up, and the future is bright ladies Mustangs!

11月底，上海美达菲学校MUSTANGS女子腰旗橄榄球队将再次出征，参加由上海橄榄球协会举办的长三角橄榄球超级联赛国际学校邀请赛。让我们共同期待她们在未来赛事中的精彩表现！

At the end of November, the Shanghai MacDuffie School, MUSTANGS girls’ flag football team will compete again, participating in the Yangtze Delta Football Super League International School Invitational, organized by the Shanghai Football Association.
