To end their unit learning about food around the world, Prep 1 students eagerly gathered in the kitchen for a cookie-baking extravaganza. With their aprons on, they measured ingredients, mixed dough, and shaped cookies into fun designs. Laughter filled the air as they shared stories about their favourite treats. The delicious aroma of baking cookies marked a sweet conclusion to their learning journey.

Prep 2 pupils have been investigating the connections between food and the environment. They learned how their choices can have a direct impact on the world around them, particularly focusing on food waste and excess packaging. The pupils exhibited their creativity by crafting art projects from food packaging. Through their projects, they demonstrated an understanding of sustainable practices, reinforcing the importance of making decisions that benefit both their health and the planet.

Meanwhile, Prep 3 pupils showcased their learning about community and sports connections by hosting a vibrant sporting fiesta. Collaborating in teams, they demonstrated the Olympic spirit while competing in various activities. The experience emphasised their growth as global citizens, understanding the importance of teamwork, respect, and unity in fostering a connected, diverse community. They also learned the importance of dedication and commitment in order to succeed and reach one’s goals.

As a creative and fun ending to their unit, Prep 4 pupils proudly presented and played their individually designed, thematic board and card games. These were uniquely crafted to illustrate their overall understanding of rainforests and their crucial role in planetary health. Their imaginative projects highlighted the importance of protecting rainforests, for reasons on both a local and global scale, and allowed the pupils to foster a deeper appreciation for Earth’s ecosystems.

Prep 5 pupils showcased their learning on sustainable choices aimed at improving the environment through a gallery walk filled with wonderful posters and creations. As effective communicators, they presented their ideas on topics such as water conservation, recycling, and energy sources. The event encouraged reflection on their journey, highlighting their understanding of sustainability and the importance of individual actions in creating a healthier planet for future generations.

For their final display and discussion event, Prep 6 pupils designed their own endangered creatures and habitats using manipulative foam and other materials. Each pupil drew up a conservation poster detailing guidelines for its care and how to prevent extinction. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as classmates and teachers engaged in lively discussions, celebrating the students’ understanding and creativity as well as a deep appreciation for animal welfare.

During the Prep 7 communication event, pupils displayed detailed posters, models, and research depicting various life cycles. As critical thinkers, they explored how these cycles demonstrate patterns and processes connecting all living things. Their curiosity led to engaging discussions, fostering a deeper understanding of biology and the many elements which are interconnected. The gallery walk provided an interactive platform for sharing knowledge and insights gained throughout the unit.
