Terry Fox Run Day

Our school SAIS-Shekou, are excited to announce our upcoming Terry Fox Run on November 14th, a meaningful event that honors Terry Fox's legacy while promoting kindness and community. This year, we are introducing The Kindness Fund, which aims to inspire students to develop ideas that promote kindness within our school and community.
The Terry Fox Run is an annual non-competitive charity event held in numerous regions around the world in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope. The purpose of the run is to raise money for cancer research. In last eight years, SAIS raised over 412,872RMB from SAIS Terry Fox Run to help total 25 children in need at the Shenzhen Children’s Hospital from Terry Fox Run! SAIS hosts this event since 2014, and this year we will host its 10th annual Terry Fox Run, doing a walk / run-a-thon to raise money for youth cancer patients in Shekou Sports Center from 9:00-11:00am on November 14th.We want to encourage students to think about how they can contribute to a kinder world.
Family Donations
We invite all families members to contribute to The Kindness Fund. We will send the donation form home. We are asking that all students attempt to raise money from the people they know (parents/guardians, family members, neighbors, friends, etc). Our goal, as a school, is to raise 50,000RMB for this cause. This is a big goal that will require students to do some work to reach it. Donations are being accepted before and at the run. Cash and Alipay are acceptable for donations. Your support will help empower students to take action on their ideas and promote a culture of kindness in our school and community. Donations will be accepted starting in November and will continue through December. Join Us in Making a Difference.
Event Details
1.Date and Time: November 14th, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
2. Location: Sports center field track
We invite all of our parents to join their students in taking part in the run or as joining as a spectator. We also need parent volunteers on the day of the run. We plan to have a booth run by parent volunteers. If you can’t volunteer your time you can still donate items to the booth for sale or give away on the day of the run. Last year we had parents donate books, cookies, etc. Here we would like to thank you, the parents, who sponsor this event in advance. If you are interested in joining, please scan to join the group below. Donations can be paid to the school’s Alipay/wechat account, or you can return the envelope with the cash to your class teacher. We hope to see you all there!
All donations will be acknowledged with the appreciation certificate, and we will keep you informed about how your contributions are making a difference in our community.

我们深美（蛇口主校区）即将于11月14日举办泰瑞福克斯慈善义跑。旨在在传承泰瑞福克斯义跑组织公益精神的同时，引导并培养深美的学子们学会关怀他人的优秀品质以及在社区推广善举的行动力！
泰瑞福克斯慈善义跑是一项一年一度的非竞赛性慈善体育活动，在全世界许多地区举行，以纪念加拿大癌症活动家泰瑞·福克斯和他的希望马拉松，并为癌症研究筹集资金。在过去的九年里，深美举行的泰瑞福克斯义跑筹集超过41.3万元捐给深圳儿童医院帮助过25名需要帮助的儿童！深美从2014年开始举办这个活动，今年我们于11月14日上午9-11点继续在蛇口体育中心田径场举行第十届泰瑞·福克斯义跑，我们将通过慢跑或慢走来为深圳年轻的癌症患者筹款。我们希望鼓励学生们思考如何用自己的行动力为社区贡献力量。
家庭捐款：
我们诚邀所有家庭成员为泰瑞福克斯义跑活动捐款。深美给学生发了一张捐款表格带回家。我们让所有学生尝试从他们认识的人（家长、监护人、家庭成员、邻居、朋友等）筹款。作为一个学校，我们的目标是为癌症事业筹集五万元的捐款。这是一个很大的目标，这需要学生们行动起来去达到这个目标。开跑前和当天都可接受现金或微信捐款。您的支持将有助于学生们明白，通过个人力所能及的力量将个人想法付诸行动，并为社区文化播种下一颗颗爱心种子。捐款开放时间从11月起至12月。
活动详情:
1.时间：11月14日，上午9点-11点
2.地点：蛇口体育中心田径场
届时邀请所有家长来和孩子们一同参与义跑，或者在旁边为孩子们加油。我们也召集当天协助活动的家长志愿者。学校计划当天开设一个由家长组织的义卖展位。您也可以提前或当天带一些物品到义卖展位捐赠义卖，比如书籍、饼干等。在此，我们先提前感谢热心家长对活动的赞助捐赠。如果您感兴趣参加义工，请扫码加入家长志愿者群吧。期待到时候见。
