It was as if we were back to that winter afternoon when Gao Hong first came to our school with her pipa, and her music instantly awakened the cultural memories sleeping in everyone's heart. On December 1st last year, a concert entitled 'New Silk Road Strings - The Colourful Journey of Sino-Syrian Music' was held at Tianjin Farragut School. The joint performance of Chinese pipa player Gao Hong and Syrian oud master Issam Rafea was like a dialogue spanning thousands of years, weaving the musical cultures of China and the Middle East into a splendid symphonic landscape.

In this concert, our students also showed their talents. From a cappella pure vocal choir to piano solo, from cello solo to traditional Chinese instruments of bamboo flute and hulusi, each performance was a wonderful interpretation of Chinese culture. With their talent and enthusiasm, these young artists showed the world the diversity and inclusiveness of Chinese culture.
