In this newsletter, we will take you through a review of the recent Chinese classes for our EYFS students and the just-concluded Mid-Autumn Festival week.



Pre-Nursery Bilingual Learning Experience

The Pre-Nursery Chinese class integrates the English class themes for teaching, and expands knowledge points on this basis to help children better understand and master the content they have learned.


In teaching, we cover a variety of activities to enhance the fun, focusing on children's attention and stimulating their enthusiasm for learning. The classroom combines poetry, picture book stories, and crafts to consolidate the knowledge learned, and also incorporates daily skills, enabling children to make progress in their daily lives. We encourage each child to speak in turn, exercising and cultivating their expressive abilities, and laying a good foundation for them to feel and master the beauty of language.

Preschool Update: Learning under the Happy Environment

As the students adapt to the campus life, we focus more on improving their learning abilities. We aim to create the happy learning environment and motivate the learning enthusiasm of students. Students can follow the activities arranged by the teachers and study happily through rice and diverse activities and multi teaching space.


Princess and super hero birthday party was held at the end of August. And we celebrate the Mid- Autumn Festival ceremoniously in September. Students make the moon-cakes, guess the lantern riddles, participate in the games, reading poems under the guidance of teachers. Through these activities, students can learn the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival culture. My little friends have enhance their social ability and team spirit through taking part in the rich and diverse activities.


The teaching topic of this month is All About Me. We learn about our body parts, emotions and family members. Students learn the skills related to themselves by drawing their portrait, playing house puzzles, playing jumping the houses game in class. Our lessons are full of fun, so the students can learn under the comfort and happy environment.


As the teaching develops, students will continue to learn more skills and knowledge under the happy environment. At the meantime, students should arrive at school on time, love to study and keep a positive mind. Teachers will accompany my little friends to grow up with love and patience.

My Home Learning Journey with Nursery Tigers

As the homeroom teacher of the Nursery Tiger Cubs class, I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all new families and students who have joined our vibrant BIS community. 

This week, the theme of our Nursery Tiger Chinese class is "My Home." In this warm unit, we will help children understand the structure and functions of a "home" through various fun activities, such as reading the picture book "Maisy's House," observing the types of items in a room, and playing games to categorize items. Children can naturally associate with real-life scenarios and clearly understand the purpose of each room, for example: "There is a TV in the living room, and I watch TV in the living room." We also made a 3D "My Room" through drawing and crafts, where children express their understanding and love for home through unique color matching and furniture arrangement. We look forward to the children cherishing and enjoying the wonderful time spent with their families even more during this week's learning.

Reception Tigers' Mid-Autumn Festival Learning Adventure' Learning Journey

The first half of September has been very busy for our Reception Tigers. The children in Reception Tigers are on average 4-5 years old. They are good at listening, skilled at learning, and very curious about new knowledge.


To correspond to the English learning theme, we first learned about matching exercises for the five senses, such as "We use our ears to listen to beautiful sounds" and "We use our tongues to taste delicious food"...


While doing the five senses matching exercises, we also trained the children's fine motor skills, teaching them how to use scissors, how to use glue, and how to paste things.


As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, we also taught the children the origin of the festival, and then we made a moon lantern together.


The steps for making a moon lantern are: first, knead the yellow modeling clay, press it flat, and then cover it on our "moon," after covering it well, then create our own "moon lantern."


On the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, the annual Mid-Autumn Festival. Also known as "Zhongqiu," it is the second most important traditional festival in China after the Spring Festival. It has folk customs such as eating mooncakes, moon gazing, playing with lanterns, and enjoying osmanthus. Wish everyone: The moon is round, the family is united. The mooncakes are sweet, and good things come in pairs. A smiling Mid-Autumn Festival, happiness every day. A beautiful life, happiness forever.

Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration with Reception Lion Cubs

What a wonderful week of Mid-Autumn Festival. We are thrilled to share this exciting learning experience of  Reception Lion cubs.

 

Now let's see how we embarked on this fun journey together.


Over the past week, we have been exploring a Chinese tradional festival-Mid Autumn Day. We focused on why Chinese people celebrate this festival and how they celebrate this festival. For sure, telling the story of the moon cake is one of the attractive activities. We've known why Goddess in the moon (Chang e), and the boys and girls found Chinese fairy's dresses are so beautiful that they love to explore Chinese traditional history.


After learning about the story of Mid-Autumn Festival, the children have engaged in many fun activities such as singing a Chinese famous poem with dancing, they love to sing and dance with graceful melody.


Then we organized an amazing handmade work which was learning to make a moon cake. This is a very famous and traditional food in China. All the children were looking forward to having this activity. And another important handcraft of Mid-Autumn Day should be Lantern. That is an exciting design for the children. They learned to fold the hard card paper and cut a pattern with scissors.


The final activity was watching a live show of Chinese Gongfu in the school lobby. Our class was surprised by this live show.

学前教育最新情况:在快乐的环境下学习

随着同学们逐步适应了入园生活,我们在学生的学习能力提升上下了更大的功夫。我们旨在为学生创造快乐的学习环境,激发学生的学习热情。丰富多元的活动,不拘一格的教学环境,让学生在校园内跟随着老师安排的教学活动,欢乐地学习。


8月底我们举办了公主和超级英雄生日派对。9月我们隆重庆祝中秋节,老师带领着同学们做月饼,猜灯谜,参加游园小游戏,读古诗等活动。让同学们在学校学习到中秋传统节日文化。在丰富多样的活动中,小朋友们亲身参与其中,提升了社交能力和集体精神。


本月教学主题关于我,围绕着我的身体,情绪,家庭等等开展教学。同学们在课堂上通过画肖像画,拼拼图比赛,跳房子等精心设计的教学活动学习到关于我的知识,寓教于乐,在轻松欢快的氛围下,学习知识。


随着教学的开展,同学们将会继续在快乐的环境下学习到更多的知识。同时,也需要同学们按时到校,热爱学习,天天向上。老师将用爱心和耐心陪伴小朋友们成长。

3-4岁小虎班关于家的学习之旅

本周我们Nursery Tiger的中文课主题是“我的家”。在这个温馨的单元里,我们将通过各种有趣的活动,例如:阅读《Maisy’s house》绘本、观察房间的物品种类,进行分类物品的游戏,帮助孩子们了解“家”构造和功能。小朋友们可以自然地联想到生活使用场景,清晰地了解到每个房间的作用,例如:客厅有电视机,我在客厅里看电视。我们还通过绘画和手工等方式制作了3D立体的“我的房间”,小朋友们通过独特的色彩搭配,家具摆放,自由地表达着对家的理解和爱。期待孩子们在本周的学习中,能够更加珍惜和享受与家人共度的美好时光。我班上的所有学生都是第一次来到我们学校,他们中的许多人都是第一次离开熟悉舒适的家。在过去的一周里,我们年轻学生的勇敢和坚韧让我深受鼓舞。

4-5岁小虎班的中秋学习大冒险

九月上半月对于我们Reception Tigers来说是非常忙碌的,Reception Tigers的孩子平均年龄在4-5岁,他们善于倾听,擅长学习,对于新知识也十分好奇。


为了配合英文的学习主题,我们首先学习了五种感官的匹配练习,比如说“我们用耳朵聆听美妙的声音” “我们们舌头品尝美味的食物”……


在做五种感官匹配练习的时候,我们还会训练到小朋友们的精细动作,让他们学会使用剪刀,学会使用胶水,粘贴等。


在中秋节来临之际,我们还教小朋友们中秋节的由来,然后一起来制作一个月球灯笼~制作月球灯笼的步骤是,先将黄色的轻粘土揉好,压平,再覆盖在我们的“月球”上,覆盖好以后再制作一个属于我们自己的“月球灯笼”。


农历八月十五,一年一度的中秋节。中秋节又称“仲秋”,是我国仅次于春节的第二大传统节日。有着吃月饼、赏月、玩花灯、赏桂花等民俗。祝福大家:月亮圆圆,合家团圆。月饼甜甜,好事连连。中秋笑脸,快乐天天。生活美美,幸福永远。

与4-5岁小狮班一起庆祝中秋节

这是多么美妙的一个中秋周啊。我们非常高兴能够分享4岁小狮子班令人兴奋的学习经历。


现在让我们看看我们是如何共同开启这段有趣旅程的。


在过去的一周里,我们一直在探究一个中国传统节日——中秋节。我们重点了解了中国人为什么庆祝这个节日以及他们如何庆祝这个节日。当然,讲述月饼的故事是吸引人的活动之一。我们已经知道了嫦娥(月亮女神)的故事,孩子们发现中国仙女的服饰如此美丽,以至于他们乐于探究中国传统历史。


在学习了中秋节的故事之后,孩子们参加了许多有趣的活动,比如伴随着舞蹈演唱一首著名的中国古诗,他们喜欢跟着优美的旋律载歌载舞。


然后我们组织了一项很棒的手工制作活动,那就是学习制作月饼。这是中国一种非常著名且传统的食物。所有孩子都期待着参加这个活动。中秋节的另一项重要手工制作应该是灯笼了。这对孩子们来说是一项令人兴奋的设计。他们学会了折叠硬卡纸,并用剪刀剪出图案。


最后的活动是在学校大厅观看一场中国功夫的现场表演。我们班对这场现场表演感到惊喜。
