Since its establishment in 2015, ISA Tianhe International School has quickly risen to prominence as a beacon of excellence in international education, thanks to its exceptional leadership team. The members of this team hail from diverse backgrounds around the world, bringing with them extensive international education experience and a rich cultural heritage that collectively shapes a unique educational vision and practical expertise.

Over the past decade, ISA Tianhe School has crafted an innovative curriculum grounded in research and evidence-based practices. The school integrates the objectives of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme with the British national education curriculum, offering specialized courses and language programmes that form a diverse and innovative educational framework. As we embark on the new academic year, we are excited to introduce the new leadership team at ISA Tianhe School. Collectively, the members of this team bring over 20 years of educational experience, having developed deep expertise and practical skills in the field. They have worked across various educational systems, spanning all stages from early years education to higher education. This diverse background equips them with a keen understanding of the unique needs of different students, allowing them to offer personalized support and guidance for each individual.

Beth Jones

Head of ISA Tianhe School

爱莎天河学校校长

As the Head of ISA Tianhe School, Beth brings more than 30 years of education experience to our school. She became a founding member of ISA Tianhe International School of Guangzhou in 2016. Throughout her career, she has worked in Primary and Early Years schools in the UK and Europe, as well as IGCSE and A-Level schools in Russia.

有着超过30年教育经验的Beth于2016年加入爱莎天河学校的创校团队,目前担任校长一职。纵观她的教育生涯,她曾在英国和欧洲的幼儿园和小学、以及俄罗斯英式学校的A-Level、IGCSE项目任职。


Beth graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA Hons, and has a Postgraduate Diploma in literature, and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education. She has trained in Pedagogical Leadership, and holds IB Leadership Certificates, demonstrating her dedication to lifelong learning. Beth is also a TYCEMC Teacher Trainer and an advisor to the International Scholastic Trust (IST) of Singapore.

As the mother of three bilingual daughters who have attended Cambridge University, University of the Arts London, and the University of London, Beth is committed to our mother tongue programme and celebrates ISA Tianhe's inclusive multi cultural community. She has worked tirelessly as an educational leader to create respectful, friendly, and inclusive learning environments for students to experience the joy of learning.

作为三个曾就读于剑桥大学、伦敦艺术大学和伦敦大学并能双语交流的女儿的母亲,Beth致力于建设和完善学校的母语课程,拥抱爱莎天河社区的包容性和多元化。作为一名深耕教育的从业者,她不辞劳苦、兢兢业业地为学生创造尊重、友好和多元的校园环境,让学生享受学习的乐趣。



Sylvia Lee

Operations Director of ISA Tianhe

爱莎天河学校运营总监

Sylvia joined ISA Tianhe in 2016 and as a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team, has responsibility for overseeing the day to day operations of the school. Over the past few years, she has been working on project development, industry research of International Education, business and procurement, co-curriculum, the ISA Charity Fund and operation management. She has practical understanding and experience of international education and international school management and is firmly committed to ensuring the smooth running of the school operations team enables the teachers to focus on their teaching and develop the students' learning.

Sylvia于2016年加入爱莎天河学校,作为学校领导团队的重要成员之一,负责监督学校的日常运营。在过去几年里,她一直承担项目发展,国际教育产业调研、商务采购、拓展课程、爱莎公益基金以及运营管理等工作。她对国际教育和国际学校管理有着实践性的理解和经验,并坚定地致力于确保学校的顺利运作,使教学团队能够专注于教学,帮助学生获得成长和发展。


With her profound conception of the ISA vision and mission, Sylvia devotes herself to the school establishment and operation management of ISA Tianhe, and strives to create a safe, orderly, comfortable and warm school environment for students.

Fengying Li

Chinese Language Coordinator

中文协调员

Fengying Li graduated from Southwest University with a major in Chinese language and literature education. She has 18 years’ experience in Chinese teaching and class management and 10 years' experience in Chinese teaching in international school. She was the head of the teaching department and the leader of subject, and was awarded the title of excellent teacher, excellent educator and excellent head teacher. She has published many teaching papers in different educational magazines.

李凤英老师,西南大学汉语言文学教育本科学历。拥有18年省一级公立学校语文教学及班级管理经验和10年国际学校中文教学经验。曾是级科组长、学科带头人,并荣获优秀教师、优秀教育工作者和优秀班主任称号,在《课堂教育研究》《黑河研究》等教师专业杂志上发表多篇教育教学论文。


She joined the founding team of ISA Tianhe School in 2014 and is currently the Chinese Coordinator. She is committed to the art of Chinese classroom teaching, exploring the setting and implementation of Chinese curriculum in international schools. She participated in the construction of the Chinese curriculum model, integrating curriculum resources and developing school-based textbooks with the Chinese teacher team.

她于2014年加入爱莎天河学校创校团队,目前担任中文协调员一职,致力于研究中文课堂教学艺术,探索国际学校中文课程设置与实施。参与构建学校的中文课程模式,进行课程资源整合,与中文团队一起研发校本教材,开展中国传统文化课程教学研究,组织指导学生参加各类比赛和探究活动并获奖。她热爱教育事业,与人为善,勤思乐学,多次参加国际教育研讨会和IBO培训获相关证书。


Fengying Li also organized the teaching and research of Chinese traditional culture, guided students to participate in various competitions and inquiry activities and won awards. She is very kind and easygoing, she loves thinking and learning. She has participated in international education seminars and IBO training many times and holds relevant certificates.

她组织指导学生参加各类比赛和探究活动并获奖。她热爱教育事业,与人为善,勤思乐学,多次参加国际教育研讨会和IBO培训获相关证书。



Melanie Botes

Early Years Coordinator & Homeroom Teacher

幼儿园协调员 & 主班老师

Melanie has more than 13 years of teaching experience. She has held teaching positions in both Primary and Early Years in South Africa and China. Melanie’s focus and degree in Foundation Phase education has since been further refined by her continued studies in and passion for learning support. She graduated with an Honours in Learner Support in 2015. She has since held a Learning Support coordinator position, been a homeroom teacher and worked in a number of remedial and learning support environments with children of different ages and challenges. Melanie’s calm, inclusive and multisensory approach to teaching creates a respectful classroom environment where students are confident and encouraged to learn collaboratively.

Rob Connolly

Primary Coordinator & Homeroom Teacher

Rob is a highly experienced teacher now in the tenth year of international education. Previously he has worked in international Primary schools in Kuwait and Qatar in the Middle East, as well as here in Guangzhou, teaching across a variety of age ranges and Key Stages. Rob holds a Postgraduate Certificate of Education in addition to a BA Hons in History. Always seeking new challenges and to continue expanding his pedagogy, Rob has held several leadership roles throughout different levels of school management and retains a keen interest in the promotion of both student and staff wellbeing, always putting students at the forefront of learning and the heart of school activities.

Debbie Rowan

Assistant PYP Coordinator & Homeroom  Teacher

Debbie has over ten years of teaching experience across a range of different international schools. She graduated from the University of Stirling with a BA Hons in Professional Primary Education with a specialism in Modern Languages in 2012.

Debbie有十多年各类国际学校教学经验, 2012年毕业于斯特林大学,获得专业初等教育荣誉学士学位,主修现代语言。她曾在苏格兰、俄罗斯、泰国和哥伦比亚教授KS1和2年级的课程,并协调领导一系列的科目,包括小学英语协调员。


She has previously worked in Scotland, Russia, Thailand and Colombia teaching year groups across KS1 and 2 and Coordinating leadership of a range of Subjects, including Primary English Coordinator. Debbie's philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. She aims to create the type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential, by providing a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.
