Good Morning Parents and New Students,
It is truly exciting to welcome you to St Bees (Dongguan). I understand that starting at a new school can be a mix of excitement and anxiety, but rest assured, our teachers, staff, and returning students are all here to help you settle into this new environment.
As you begin your journey at St Bees, I’d like to share three key aspects that make our school unique:
1. **A Rich British Heritage:** St Bees School originally comes from the UK, with a history spanning over 441 years. Our British school culture is likely different from your previous experiences. Here, you’ll have a personal Mentor who will offer guidance and support throughout your time with us. You’ll also be allocated to a House, much like in Harry Potter, where you’ll forge strong bonds and engage in healthy competition. Academically, you’ll embark on your iGCSE and A Level studies, setting a strong foundation for your future.
2. **Focus on Leadership:** Leadership is a cornerstone of our philosophy. We believe that developing leadership skills and a leadership mindset is crucial for your future success. Our vision—and our greatest hope—is for you to become future leaders who lead successful and fulfilling lives.
3. **Diverse Activities:** Beyond academics, you’ll find a wealth of activities here. From weekly GCAS (Global Citizenship and Skills) sessions, House Competitions, and GAP (Global Awareness Program), to school-to-school competitions and over 40 school-wide activities, there’s always something happening. These opportunities aren’t just about having fun—they’re designed to help you develop teamwork, communication skills, and to encourage you to try new things and challenge yourself.
Our theme for this year is "Together We Grow, Together We Succeed." By adopting a growth mindset, you’ll discover many exciting opportunities. I’m very much looking forward to working with you all for a successful year ahead.

家校互动提问环节
我们极其重视家长的问题和意见，因此我们设置了家校互动的环节。此环节由两位校长主导。为了解家长的真实需求，副校长Stephen O'Farrell采用了非实名制实时互动的提问方式，鼓励家长们通过现场扫描二维码来提出问题，从而实现了有问必答，有效缓解了家长们心中的疑虑。
这一举措使得现场气氛十分活跃，家长们纷纷表示将孩子送入圣比斯学习，既放心又安心。

院舍制破冰游戏
“院舍”（House），起源于中世纪的英国的院舍制度，在悠久的历史中逐渐成为了英式精英教育中不可或缺的一环。在House里的每一个学生都有不同的个人特长，能获得个性的关怀和培养。
House里的伙伴和导师就是自己最亲密的家人。因此我们为新生们准备了精彩的破冰游戏，外教们跟学生迅速打成一片，中外学生逐渐褪去了拘谨，积极参与，相互协作。活动现场笑声不断，气氛热烈。

东莞食堂“天花板”
圣比斯（东莞）的美食一直都是有口皆碑，新鲜的食材和精湛的手艺，牢牢的抓住圣比斯学子的胃。现场家长更忍不住感叹：“圣比斯的食堂员工福利也太好了！”
菜式不单营养均衡，更融合中西方特色：瑞士汁鸡腿、墨西哥鸡肉卷饼、芝士焗土豆泥、金银蒜粉丝蒸排骨、农家小炒肉、干锅菜花肉片、咖喱菠萝牛肉炒饭、蒜蓉菜心、玉米红萝卜龙骨汤、轻芝士蛋糕、桂花蜜雪梨百香果、西瓜、火龙果 ……光听名字，已让人忍不住期待。

The home-school
interaction Q&A session.
School-home interaction is a critical aspect that we highly value. During the parent Q&A session, the vice principal implemented an anonymous approach, encouraging parents to submit their questions by scanning a QR code on-site. This ensured that every question was addressed, effectively alleviating any concerns parents might have had. The result was a lively and engaging atmosphere, with many parents expressing their confidence and peace of mind about sending their children to St. Bishops School.

House-organized ice-breaking game
The concept of "House," originating from medieval England's residential care system has become an integral part of British elite education throughout history. Each student belongs to a specific House where they receive personalized care and cultivation based on their individual strengths.
To foster camaraderie among freshmen and existing members within each House community at St BeesDongguan, an engaging ice-breaking game was organized.The participation from both local and international teachers as well as students created a harmonious atmosphere where inhibitions were shed,and active cooperation prevailed amidst laughter.

Dongguan canteen "ceiling"
St. Bee's (Dongguan) cuisine has always been acclaimed, fresh ingredients and exquisite craftsmanship, firmly grasp the stomachs of St. Bee students. Parents at the scene could not help but sigh: "The cafeteria staff welfare of St. Bees is too good!"
The dishes not only have a balanced nutrition, but also integrate Chinese and Western characteristics: Swiss sauce chicken leg, Mexican chicken burrito, Baked potato with cheese, Steamed pork ribs with garlic and vermicelli, farm stir-fried meat, dry pot cauliflower meat slice

At last
A new starting point, a new journey, pregnant with new hopes and aspirations. "Together we grow, together we succeed." The opening ceremony enhanced the sense of responsibility and mission of teachers and students, clarified the learning objectives of the new semester, and created a strong and relaxed learning atmosphere.
With passion and confidence, the faculty and students will help more students find their place in the world, adopt a growth mindset, try new things and challenge themselves, and help students become future leaders.
