【IBPYP Accreditation】武汉爱莎外籍人员子女学校成为IB PYP正式授权学校

Good news from the school! The Primary and Kindergarten of ISA Wuhan International School have received a confirmation letter from the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), successfully obtaining the authorisation of the IB PYP, the most prestigious award in the world of international education, and formally becoming a member of the 5,000+ IB World Schools around the globe.

ABOUT IB PYP


IB PYP(International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme),即国际文凭组织小学项目,是国际文凭组织(IBO)为3至12岁学生设计的一套全面而富有挑战性的国际教育课程。


PYP项目以六大跨学科探究主题为核心,这些主题包括“我们是谁”、“我们身处什么时空”、“我们如何表达自己”、“世界如何运作”、“我们如何组织自己”以及“共享地球”。这些主题跨越了传统学科的界限,鼓励学生通过结构化探究的方式,形成对重要概念的深入理解,并培养跨学科的思考能力。同时,PYP项目也注重培养学生的批判性思维、沟通能力、合作精神和解决问题的能力,为他们未来的学习和生活打下坚实的基础。

IB PYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme) is the International Baccalaureate Organization's (IBO) comprehensive and challenging international education programme for students aged 3 to 12.


The PYP programme is centred on six cross-curricular themes of inquiry, including "Who we are", "What time and space we are in", "How we express ourselves", "How the World Works, How We Organise Ourselves and Sharing the Planet. These themes cross traditional disciplinary boundaries and encourage students to develop a deeper understanding of key concepts and interdisciplinary thinking skills through structured enquiry. The PYP programme also focuses on developing students' critical thinking, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, providing them with a solid foundation for their future learning and life.

The PYP programme also places great emphasis on the development of students' attitudes and actions. By encouraging students to develop twelve positive attitudes (e.g. appreciation, commitment, self-confidence, co-operation, creativity, etc.) and to take responsible actions, the PYP programme aims to help students develop a correct outlook on life and values, and to nurture them to become responsible and accountable future leaders with an international outlook, an innovative spirit and a sense of social responsibility.

In an inquiry play-based classroom, students are actively involved in their learning. They formulate questions, investigate widely and then build new understandings, meanings, and knowledge. 


An inquiry approach emphasizes ‘learning how to learn’ and ‘how to find out’ using both traditional and contemporary methods. In the PYP it is believed that teaching about central ideas that are concept based, leads to the most substantial and enduring learning.
