Chengdu Montpellier International School (MIS), was established in 2019. A symbol of the friendship between the governments of China and France, MIS is a model of international, cultural, and educational collaboration between Chengdu, China, and Montpellier, France, marking 40 years of international partnership.

English Teaching
Aside from Chinese language, dance, and mathematics, which are taught using Chinese and bilingual methods, subjects such as Science, Music, PE, Art, STEM, and Drama are all taught entirely in English.
Learning Outcome:
·Elementary school graduation: European standard A2-B1, with a vocabulary of 4,000-5,000 words; equivalent to IELTS 4.0-5.0, TOEFL 60-80.
·Middle school graduation: European standard B1-B2, with a vocabulary of 6,000-7,000 words; equivalent to IELTS 5.5-6.5, TOEFL 80-100.
·High school graduation: European standard B2-C1, with a vocabulary of 8,000-10,000 words; equivalent to IELTS 6.5-7.5, TOEFL 90-110.
Chinese Teaching
Based on the IB's concept of inquiry-based transdisciplinary learning, encompass the study of traditional classical poetry, appreciation of modern literary works, and in-depth discussions of humanities, history, and geography.
Chinese proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing meets the graduation requirements of the Chinese national core curriculum.
French Teaching
All our French teachers are certified by the French Ministry of Education.
Learning Outcome:
·Elementary school graduation: European standard A2-B1, with a vocabulary of 3,000-5,000 words.
·Middle school graduation: European standard A1-A2, with a vocabulary of 2,000-4,000 words.
·French is offered as an elective for clubs at our high school.

IB-PYP International Curriculum
Based on the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) educational.

The six subject areas (Chinese, Mathematics, Art, Science, PE, Social Education, and Personal Education) revolve around six IB themes, known as Units of Inquiry (UOI):

The IB learner Profiles show the characteristics of the type of person our students will become: Principled, Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Open-minded, Balanced, Communicators, Caring, Risk-takers, Reflective, and Thinkers.
Middle School Curriculum
Incorporating the educational philosophy of the IB-MYP, we offer a preparatory course for middle school education based on the internationally recognized golden curriculum of IGCSE. Through eight major subject areas including language literature, language acquisition, individuals and societies, sciences, mathematics, arts, and physical and health education, we provide students with a comprehensive educational experience. At the same time, we adopt innovative teaching methods such as concept-driven and inquiry-based learning to cultivate students' critical thinking and interdisciplinary understanding skills. Emphasizing the imparting of knowledge, we focus on developing key skills such as communication, social interaction, self-management, and global citizenship through reflection, action, and service.
High School Curriculum (Grades 9-12)
MIS offers the internationally recognized IGCSE curriculum in grades 9 and 10.
The IGCSE, or the International General Certificate of Secondary Education, is the international version of the UK's junior high school diploma, known for its excellent educational quality and global recognition. Currently, the IGCSE is respected worldwide for its high educational standards for junior and senior high school education stages, laying a comprehensive academic foundation for international courses, such as IBDP, A-Level, or AP in the high school stage.
MIS will match the 11th graders with the appropriate IBDP or A-Level curriculum based on their abilities and academic needs for teaching.
The IBDP curriculum is a two-year high school program designed by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) for students worldwide. As the most internationally recognized and mature curriculum system, the IBDP focuses not only on basic knowledge teaching but also on the comprehensive quality and diverse abilities of students and is considered true “holistic education.” Moreover, IBDP results are recognized and accepted by more than 4,000 universities in over 120 countries worldwide.
A-Level (General Certificate of Education Advanced Level), the UK high school curriculum, is a national curriculum system in the UK, recognized as suitable preparation for university entrance globally. Its certificate is recognized by the majority of countries worldwide and serves as an admission standard for universities that teach in English.

Admissions Assessment
After the school team reviewed an application, applicants may be invited to attend an admission assessment with your child to better understand the fitness between your child and the educational offerings of our school.
Step 3
Comprehensive Evaluation
Our Team will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of each child's application and assessment results. The final admission decision will be communicated in writing within three working days after the admissions assessment.
Step 4
Admission Result Feedback
·Accepted Applications
Parents should confirm whether to accept the admission offer within seven working days after receiving the admission notice.
·Waiting List
If a spot is unavailable, your application will be placed on a waiting list. We will contact you as soon as a spot becomes available.
·Unsuccessful Applications
The application process will be terminated, and applicants may reapply after three months.
