随着5月24日DP大考的临近，DP2的同学们利用课余的时间，向大家展示了他们在视觉艺术和音乐方面的天赋以及努力。

Lily举办了一场名为“City Life”的艺术展览，她在展览中描述了自己的创作动机以及过程。Logan则举办了一场钢琴演奏会，向听众们展示了不同音乐流派的魅力。这两项活动均突出了学生们的个人特性以及学术成长，其成果背后的指导教师Ms.Anna和Mr.Georges以及整个DP教师团队当然也功不可没。

As the DP exams are just around the corner, starting on May 24th, this week was an opportunity for both Lily and Logan to showcase their achievements  in visual arts and music. On Tuesday, Lily opened her engaging art exhibit called "City Life," in which she explained both her motives and her process.

On Friday, Logan offered a piano concert featuring a variety of genres and melodies. Both events highlight the artistic growth of these students, thanks to their hard work and the dedication of their teachers, Ms. Anna and Mr. Georgios, as well as the rest of the DP team.

我的艺术探索聚焦于城市紧张的多面性主题—快速增长的大都市中无止休的节奏和复杂性之的生活。这一系列作品旨在挑战观众对城市生活的二元看法，促使人们更深入地思考现代城市景观中的真实存在感和感受。

My artistic exploration focuses on the multifaceted theme of urban tension-the relentless pace and complex nature of life in rapidly growing megacities. This body of work aims to challenge viewers to reconsider binary perceptions of city life, urging a deeper contemplation of what it truly means and feels like to exist in a modern urban landscape.

常见的二元思维在普遍观念中反映出来，将大都市的生活等同于逆境和压力，而小镇则被视为理想且无压力的生活。通过我的艺术作品—包括摄影、雕塑、绘画和版画等多种媒介，我努力传达城市生活压力和魅力。我相信，仅依赖一种艺术方法是无法捕捉我想表达的情感和意图的全部光谱的。每种媒介都提供了一个独特的视角，通过这些视角可以展示城市生活的复杂性和活力，从而对简化的二元观点行程对比。

There is this dualistic thinking that is often mirrored in the prevalent mindset that equates life in a megacity and adversity and stress, while smaller towns are perceived as idyllic and stressless. Through my art-spanning medium such as photography, sculpture, painting, and block printing-I strive to convey both the pressures and the charm of urban life. I believe that relying solely on one artistic method would fail to capture the full spectrum of emotions and intentions I aim to express. Each medium provides a unique lens through which the complexity and liveliness of city life can be shown, creating a counterpoint to simplistic, dualistic views.

在创作这一系列作品时，我不仅对我作为城市居民的经验中寻找灵感，还通过对中国几个城市如深圳、上海、香港、南京和东莞的研究和旅行，反映了对城市生活的不同视角。这种方法使我能够使用不同的艺术媒介，体现城市的多样性，并挑战对城市生活的传统二元思维。

In creating this series, I sought inspiration not only from my experience as a city dweller buy also through my research and travels to several Chinese cities like Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Nanjing and Dongguan, reflecting the varied perspectives on urban living. This approach enabled me to employ different artistic mediums that embody the city`s versatility and challenge the conventional binary thinking about urban life.

SPBCN中国城市拼字大赛总决赛

TWIS的学生们在中国拼字比赛中展示了他们的语言能力。PYP的Mike、PYP4的Nicole、PYP5的Kayla等同学都参与到本次比赛当中。特别值得一提的是，获得第四名的Bobo(PYP2)，获得第五名的Ryan(PYP5)以及获得第一名的Nathan(MYP4)，他们与同台竞技的100多名选手竞争并最终获奖。我们为他们的成就感到骄傲，他们的拼搏精神值得所有人的赞扬！‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

Our student showcased their linguistic prowess at the SPBCN Spelling Bee of China City Finals. Our students participated admirably. Special metion goes to Bobo (PYP2), who secured 4th place, Ryan (PYP5), who clinched 5th place and Nathan (MYP4) as 1st place within their age groups, completing against over a hundred participants. They have been invited to participate in the national finals on May 3rd in Beijing, as well as the North America Spelling Champion Challenge.
